The UFC returns to AZ (Construction drama forced the location from Mexico) this weekend for a 13-fight showcase at Desert Diamond Arena, with Brandon Moreno and Alexa Grasso among the Mexican stars carrying national pride into the Octagon. At the top of the bill, Brazilian chaos merchant Jean Silva meets short-notice hometown hero Jose Miguel Delgado in a featherweight main event that has violence written all over it.
With heavy favourites, plenty of dangerous underdogs, and UFC odds attached to every matchup, there’s plenty to pull apart. So, let’s get straight into my Noche UFC best bets and fight analysis for Saturday’s fight card.

Waldo Cortes Acosta 1.46 (-217) vs. Curtis Blaydes 2.52 (+152)
Matchup Edge: The big boys will undoubtedly throw some heavy leather… knockout anyone?
Waldo Cortes Acosta has, without a doubt, been one of the heavyweight division’s saving graces over the past few years. Constant activity, plenty of high-level wins, and a tidy highlight reel to match have made him a fan favorite in a division that’s otherwise struggling for legitimate contenders.
The same is true of Curtis Blaydes. Who, despite having lost his most recent bout at Freedom UFC 250 to Josh Hokit, has been competing versus the best of the best at heavyweight for the last decade whilst maintaining a position in the top ranks.
Acosta vs. Blaydes Betting Prediction
I don’t want to simplify Blaydes’s skill set by any means, but there’s been a problem for some time now, and I don’t like it: His wrestling edge has faded! The guy once known for being a savage wrestler, ground-and-pound-ing the crap out of legends like Alistair Overeem, seems to be no more. Instead, we have a boxing version of Blaydes, who, sure, has had some success, but it just doesn’t feel like he’s utilizing his full MMA skill set anymore.
With an opponent like Waldo in front of him, Blaydes should dust off the old wrestling boots and drown him. Unfortunately, I don’t believe he will. For Cortes-Acosta, he began life as a boxer before transitioning to MMA, and that becomes apparent when the cage door closes.
Following a Fight of the Year, possibly decade, candidate scrap with Hokit and losing, I don’t have confidence in Blaydes’s striking to get the job done versus a much cleaner and larger striker in Cortes-Acosta. Hokit is tiny and still calm extremely close to the finish, and this is where I believe Cortes-Acosta will finish what the smaller man couldn’t… Give me the favorite, but take him by knockout and enjoy the plus-money!

Edgar Chairez 1.43 (-233) vs. Tim Elliot 2.62 (+162)
Matchup Edge: Well,
With 14 years on the UFC clock and his 40th birthday approaching, we have to put some respect on the name of Tim Elliot. He’s defied the odds that lighter-weight class fighters don’t survive in this sport, and although trading wins and losses has been constant, he’s regularly defeated opponents he isn’t supposed to.
This weekend, however, Elliot will fight a savage in Edgar Chairez, who’s currently riding a 3-fight win streak. The Mexican representative is excellent in all areas, has never had his chin fail him, and is ultimately the favorite not just because of age, but because he’s a legitimate talent with much less mileage in the longevity department.
Chairez vs. Elliot Betting Prediction
Nobody should want to step in front of Chairez’s run right now. His previous round-one domination over Bruno Silva displayed his excellent BJJ knowledge, and this is an area where I believe Elliot struggles defensively.
Offensively, Elliot can certainly grapple. Unfortunately for him, fending off submissions has been a red flag throughout his career, thus resulting in 42% of his 12 losses ending by sub.
With that said, whether it’s by sub, decision, or knockout, I believe Chairez will be better in all areas, and although 1.43 isn’t a huge bankroll booster, I do believe it should be closer to 1.30, and that’s a valuable play in my opinion.
Chairez vs. Elliot Best Bet: Chairez to Win at 1.43 [-233]
Yousri Belgaroui 1.11 (-909) vs. Djorden Santos 5.55 (+455)
Matchup Edge: A 6’6” knockout artist who trains with ‘Poatan ’? Now that’s an edge.
She may have told you “size isn’t everything,” but trust me, she hasn’t met Yousri Belgaroui. This 6-foot-six-inch monster has all the attribute advantages and, more importantly, the evolving skills to match. And yes, he does train with Alex Pereira, but that isn’t really a leading factor in his success; the long-range striking, power, and killer instinct are!
By no means is Djorden Santos a pushover or an easy fight. The Brazilian has respectable kickboxing and has proven his worth on the ground in past bouts. He’s still fresh to the UFC roster and is currently 1-2 from three appearances, but nobody has yet to finish this man by knockout, as his toughness has shined through thus far.
Belgaroui vs. Santos Betting Prediction
The highlighting of Santos’ toughness is one thing, but it’s safe to say that he hasn’t fought a more shining prospect than Belgaroui. The Dutch kickboxing savant was going toe-to-toe with Alex Pereira in his early 20s, and if that isn’t a way to grow your striking credentials, I don’t know what is.
Now, what’s more impressive is the slow and steady transition to MMA. He wasn’t forced or rushed; he took his time and joined the UFC now that his skills have ripened. We watched him handle a serious wrestler in Bekoev and crush a formerly undefeated wrecking ball in Mansur Abdul-Malik, both by knockout.
One could argue that Santos will be Belgaroui’s “easiest” UFC bout thus far. I don’t see the Brazilian having enough wrestling flair to bring this fight to the ground, and with a 5-inch reach disadvantage, we know what comes next… a kickboxing masterclass.
Belgaroui is the biggest Noche UFC favourite. But we’ll take the knockout at 1.64 and probably watch it cash within the first five minutes.
