UFC Vegas 123 Best Bets: Analysis & Predictions

Halloween at the Meta APEX, with a man nicknamed “Money” topping the bill? Let’s hope the scariest thing on Saturday isn’t the state of our betting slips. That sets the stage for our UFC Vegas 123 best bets.

UFC Vegas 123 closes out October with Renato Moicano facing Tom Nolan in a lightweight main event that should tell us plenty about the Australian’s ceiling. Nolan has won five straight, but the Brazilian veteran brings the experience and submission threat to make his first UFC headlining assignment an uncomfortable one.

There’s plenty to chew on before those two get to work, too. Randy Brown faces Jacobe Smith in the welterweight co-main event, while Cody Durden meets Ode Osbourne, and Zac Reese takes on Micky Gall further down the card.

With 12 bouts to dissect, I’m back sorting through the favourites, weighing up the underdogs, and looking for prices worth taking. So, before we find out who’s getting tricked and who’s getting paid, let’s jump into my UFC Vegas 123 best bets and fight night predictions at ibet.

  • Bet on Jacobe Smith to win by knockout at 2.44 [+144] at ibet.
  • Back Reese to KO Gall at 1.88 [-119] at ibet.

UFC Vegas 123 Best Bets

Randy Brown 2.95 (+195) vs. Jacobe Smith 1.34 (-294)

Matchup Edge: The old guard versus the new at 170lbs, but the latter’s momentum could be a factor.

Fading “Rude Boy” Randy Brown hasn’t always been the wisest betting strategy, as the long-standing UFC welterweight is a true gatekeeper of the division, with a 14-8 UFC record and a resume that lists elite-caliber opponents. The problem is, at age 36, inconsistent results have crept in, and with the realization that a championship run is unlikely, he’s now a measuring stick for up-and-coming talent.

Speaking of which, a 13-0 unbeaten knockout machine in Jacobe Smith will be the next test for Brown. And while I understand the experience factor of an untested newcomer, durability and a lack of defense give me major concerns for the former top-ranked veteran.

Brown vs. Smith UFC Betting Prediction

Momentum is a real thing, so we’re looking at Smith with 13 straight wins, 10 knockouts, and 1 submission opposed to Brown’s two consecutive losses in where Gabriel Bonfim was able to get him out with a clinch knee knockout.

It’s not always about what you’ve done for me lately, and although there’s a world where Brown can pop a jab and move, I don’t really trust him to move. He simply gets hit too much, something that’s a huge concern with the heavy-hitting, uber-athletic Smith lined up for him next.

He can do it on the floor via his top-notch wrestling or he can explode on the feet to capitalize on the sometimes stagnant head movement of Brown. Either way, I envision a brutal knockout finish, with the current odds at 2.44 because Brown’s respected career gives us great value.

Brown vs. Smith Best Bet: Smith by KO/TKO at 2.44 [+144]

Ode Osbourne 1.91 (-110) vs. Cody Durden 1.79 (-127)

Matchup Edge: Osbourne cannot wrestle… that’s it.

Two OG names go head-to-head on the main card this weekend, and it must be Halloween because this card positioning for two fighters with a combined 20 losses is quite shocking.

With that said, it’s an interesting bout, at least. We have the striker in Ode Osbourne, renowned for his punching power, going against the well-rounded but wrestling-heavy Durden. The glaring problem is, Ode just hasn’t proved he can defend takedowns, and that’ll likely be his downfall come fight night.

Osbourne vs. Durden UFC Betting Prediction

More often than not, Durden’s success in the cage has been a result of his wrestling edge, and it just so happens that Osbourne’s losses have predominantly centered around his lack of wrestling defense.

It’s a shame because Osbourne’s power is something special, and with just a little wrestling he’d likely have a much better record. But that isn’t the case, and Durden knows the task at hand: he’ll likely spam shots to protect his questionable chin and take a simple win against the striker’s non-existent grappling.

Osbourne vs. Durden Best Bet: Durden to Win at 1.79 [-127]

Zachary Reese 1.24 (-400) vs. Micky Gall 3.65 (+265)

Matchup Edge: It’s Micky Gall; need I say more?

Zachary Reese enters his tenth UFC bout this Saturday with a 4-4-1 record. No, he hasn’t impressed, but he’s slightly above the bottom of the barrel. We can’t say the same for his opponent, and honestly, I don’t know how Micky Gall still has a UFC contract.

Gall is the owner of the most pathetic win streak in the UFC from when he beat Mike Jackson, CM Punk, and Sage Northcutt, back-to-back, in 2016. He began his pro career in the company at 0-0, and after ten years and 14 fights, he’s 7-7 and simply not good enough to be here.

Reese vs. Gall UFC Betting Prediction

Reese is no world beater, but none of the wins on Gall’s record show an opponent that still owns a UFC contract. Not to mention, he’s fought just five times in the previous six years, and has also been sidelined since 2024.

I think the UFC will finally say goodbye to Gall this weekend, as it only takes a few punches and he’ll be looking for a way out. Reese’s ground game is good enough to shut down Gall’s only chance to win (jiu-jitsu), and he’ll need only a few clean shots before the referee steps in to stop the fight.

Reese vs. Gall Best Bet: Reese by KO/TKO at 1.84 [-119]
