There is no denying Raul Rosas Jr.’s grappling talent. The 21-year-old youngster has amassed a 6-1 UFC record, finished 3 of those six wins inside the distance, and is currently on track to become a top-10-ranked UFC bantamweight with an age that’s only just allowed him to drink a beer legally.
When Rosas Jr. was born, his weekend opponent Barcelos was making his pro-MMA debut. That’s the age gap, and perhaps an advantage that the younger holds this weekend, but are you backing youthful attributes over experience?
An Absolute Bantamweight Dawg!
Back in 2018, Raoni Barcelos made his UFC debut and instantly went on a five-fight win streak over the next 24 months. The Brazilian displayed heart, grit, striking, and grappling, all while positioning himself as a legitimate contender and, for some, a future top-five-ranked guy.
At the time, he was just 34, and unfortunately, said win streak turned into a bit of a rocky road as he went 1-4 in his next five. But here we are: since 2024, Barcelos has said, “Hold my beer,” and a late-career resurgence began.
Since 2024, Barcelos has won five straight again! The difference? He’s now 39 years old. Now, if this was heavyweight, it wouldn’t be so surprising, but to achieve this at 135lbs, a division known for being unkind to aging fighters, is uber impressive.
Barcelos is a dawg in the cage! Moreover, he’s been an underdog in 3 of his 5-fight win streak bouts. Prices of +710, +150, +160, all cashed, so are you really willing to fade this savage versus 21-year-old Rosas Jr.?

Barcelos Moneyline Is Plus-Money, Again!
Ricky Turcios? Rob Font? Vince Morales? These are the best wins on Rosas Jr.’s record. So, despite the impressive 6-1 record, he hasn’t faced anyone close to Barcelos’ experience and well-rounded talent.
For Barcelos, even if Rosas gets a takedown (which would be just the second takedown Barcelos has ever surrendered at 87% TDD), he isn’t going to lay back and take it like past opponents of his. Rosas Jr. gave an absolute stinker versus Font, and just laid on his opponent.
And that’s the difference-maker for me because in a five-round fight, I don’t envision Rosas’s gas tank lasting against the Brazilian’s pressure, especially when he’ll have someone fighting for position and the hands to get back to his feet or scramble on top.
Youth doesn’t necessarily equal a good gas tank. We’ve watched Rosas slow in the later rounds, and versus the non-stop pressure of Barcelos, whose cardio is proven, it will be crucial for him to win rounds. So, yes, he’s a live underdog again, perhaps more live than ever!
Barcelos to Win at 2.25 [+125]
Over 3 ½ Rounds
While five-round cardio is a concern of mine with Rosas Jr., he has longevity on his side, and he’s never been stopped inside the distance. Of course, there’s a first time for everything, but in backing Barcelos to win, we’re backing the grind. For this reason, the over is an option for us bettors.
If Barcelos finds a finish, I expect it in the later rounds. And likewise, Barcelos has one heck of a chin and BJJ defense, so an early finish from the opposite end doesn’t feel likely.
Three and a half rounds is the sweet spot, and still offers some decent value. Plus, with four straight decisions for Barcelos and 50% of his UFC bouts going the distance for Rosas Jr., for anyone unwilling to take a shot at the underdog, it’s an alternative option that should cash
