By now, word must have spread everywhere that Thomas Tuchel has been replaced on the Blues’ bench by Graham Potter. On Wednesday evening at 21.00 CET we will have an absolute classic matchup between Chelsea and AC Milan. Even though both teams haven’t faced each other in about 20 years. It should be an interesting one – with the matching football odds!
Chelsea Form-Check
The new coach won his first game at the weekend 2:1 at Crystal Palace. It was not a glamorous performance, not a gala. And yet there is a lot to take away because the typical Potter soccer with lots of short passes and possession worked quite well and this might also obviously work in favor of the Blues – besides the fact, that Milan has only won one of the last 20 European Cup away games against English teams. Back to last weekends match though. Defensively, however, the Blues were shaky in many phases. AC Milan Form-Check
The Rossoneri are still trying to find their rhythm. They managed to score a 3:1 last-minute victory against Empoli on the last weekend but they are currently only ranked 5th in the Serie A. Still better than Inter Milan though – they are sitting in the 12th spot after two defeats in a row.
However, AC Milan seems not quite as strong as it was last season in all aspects. Offensively, there could be a bit more from the team, even if 16 goals from eight games are a solid basis. Nine goals conceded are also solid, but these figures are not enough to reach their own optimum. After all, there were four points from both games in the top division.
That’s important because the last group stage, in 2021/22, was pretty messed up. AC Milan had only four points at the end of the six games for the last Champion League season. Away from home, the visitors often offer something internationally, playing only in two of the last 17 games to zero. One thing is for sure: the Rossoneri are at a home way better than on away turf.

We are not expecting the Rossoneri to go all in for their game in London since they are comfortably sitting at the top of the table. A draw would definitely do the trick for the Italians. Besides that, we won’t probably see a high-scoring affair tonight. Chelsea definitely needs a victory to save their chances of advancing to the next round. Therefore the Chelsea vs AC Milan odds are quite obvious going in direction of the home team.
