Saturday’s UFC 333 main event in Abu Dhabi gives the unbeaten Russian his long-awaited shot at featherweight gold, but the man holding it has built a remarkable career out of making elite opponents look short of answers. Volkanovski knows how to win these nights, and he’ll need every bit of that experience against a challenger whose wrestling rarely allows anyone a comfortable minute.

UFC 333 Betting
Movsar Evloev has spent 20 professional fights refusing to lose. Now he has to do it against Alexander Volkanovski, with a UFC championship finally attached to the job.
Evloev’s route to the belt involves closing the distance, chaining takedowns, and making the champion work for every escape. Volkanovski must make those entries expensive while finding enough room to impose his own game. Over five rounds, that becomes a fascinating argument between relentless pressure and championship craft.
Can Evloev leave with his perfect record and a new belt, or does “The Great” have another reminder ready? Let’s get into my Volkanovski vs Evloev main event picks, analysis, and predictions, including the best bets to play at ibet.

Inside the Octagon UFC 333: Volkanovski vs. Evloev Analysis
Volkanovski, The Old GOAT
With two featherweight title reigns, a 15-3 UFC record, and almost seven years spent fighting the elite at 145lbs, there’s no denying Alexander Volkanovski is in the GOAT conversation. Unfortunately, age waits for no man, and despite running through a young buck in Diego Lopes (twice) in back-to-back fights, something might have to give when the Aussie legend continues defending featherweight gold versus the best fighters on the planet.
The Islam Makhachev and Ilia Topuria knockout losses may have been a glimpse of what’s to come for an aging fighter, but we can give the champ some leeway, since competing against the p4p greats isn’t the same as facing a divisional top-ranked foe.
And here’s the thing: you don’t have to worry about Volk’s chin this weekend, but the ability to go long with a pressure wrestler might be too much to ask for a near forty-something man.
Evloev: A Relentless Wrestler in his Prime
We have an undefeated Russian (20-0) who’s finally received the title opportunity he probably should’ve been gifted a few fights back. Sadly, a grinding, wrestling style with heavy top control isn’t exactly what the UFC admires. That said, wins over Ige, Lopes, Allen, Sterling, and Murphy have forced the promotion’s hand, as Evloev now competes for gold this weekend.
So, what can we expect? Well, Evloev surprisingly displayed some clean striking offense versus Murphy last time out. This game plan, however, won’t be the approach versus a striking savant like Volk, as another wrestling masterclass and control time collecting is expected.
UFC 333 Volkanovski vs. Evloev Betting Tips
Evloev to Win by Decision
There’s a reason why UFC 333 odds place Volk and Evloev so close in pricing, and that’s because the former’s legend and the latter’s talent equally provide solid arguments. We’ve watched Volk defend takedowns against Makhachev (although he gave up 4), and we’ve watched Evloev completely dismantle strikers.
So, beyond a basic skill-for-skill comparison, we must consider age and career trajectory. While Volk hasn’t shown any concerns about his age, he’s also never fought a wrestler as relentless as Evloev, who’ll test anyone’s cardio with spammed takedowns. Then obviously, Evloev is fighting in his prime, while Volk is unquestionably reaching the end of his career.
Yes, Volk can defend takedowns. But can he do this for 25 minutes? Makhachev, like Evloev, would be the measuring stick for wrestling defense as they’re both elite, but the p4p king didn’t actually need as much wrestling as we expected in his clashes with Volk, whereas Evloev will likely shoot constantly!
Would I love Volk to pull this off? Of course, but I cannot see him defending takedowns for 25 minutes. Evloev only needs three rounds, and his blanket style will take this to the scorecards, where a supportive Abu Dhabi crowd will get the result they desire.
Evloev to win by decision at 2.62
The Fight Goes the Distance
If you don’t want to pick a winner (I don’t blame you, it’s a tough one), you can always look at a little juice and bet on this bout going the distance.
Evloev is a decision machine, while Volk also holds a record that’s seen him go the distance more often than not. We have two fighters with great durability and technical skills that should unravel an elite chess match, and in turn, a drained clock that will eventually reach the 25-minute mark.
Fight Goes the Distance at 1.41
